Year of foundation
In business since 1981. Online since 1995. ORION has long been a major player in the erotic industry.
With its own online shop, B2C sales on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, physical POS stores, and a B2B distribution channel, the company is firmly positioned in multichannel commerce.
Around 250 employees, over 15,000 products, and a strong focus on direct customer relationships define this digital trailblazer in sexual wellness. And ORION isn’t done yet: the team is set on international growth and aims to expand across new European marketplaces.
But with greater ambitions came growing complexity.
Shopware 5 served as middleware between marketplaces and the company’s IBM-based ERP. Data transfer was handled via Magnalister.
The result: custom integrations, limited visibility, too many tools – and not enough flow. ORION faced a fragmented system landscape that was slowly running out of steam.
When Shopware 5 was phased out, one thing became clear: this wasn’t just about replacing a system.
It was time for a solution that connects seamlessly, integrates cleanly – and scales with the business.

Centralised PIM
“Managing marketplaces used to be a daily pain point. Now, PlentyONE bridges the gap between our ERP and sales channels — giving us control, clarity, and capacities to scale.”

On the Perfect Spot: PlentyONE as Middleware
Thanks to automated and reliable data flows between ORION’s in-house ERP, PlentyONE as middleware, and marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, the team was able to consolidate key processes – and cut down on manual work.
Product data, orders, stock levels, and status updates now flow seamlessly through the system – end-to-end, across all channels, and error-free. The result? Greater efficiency in day-to-day operations – and a future-ready tech setup that grows with the business.
More performance, less hands-on hustle.
Fast, global channel integration
ORION has its sights set on international growth. That’s why fast, uncomplicated access to new marketplaces, platforms and plugins is key – with flexible expansion, no overhead.
PlentyONE ensures the company stays agile, even as channel diversity & complexity increases.
Centralised order import & automated returns
In the erotic industry, great service is everything. Thanks to PlentyONE, support requests are automatically linked to the right orders – for fast, context-based responses.
Returns? Handled seamlessly and automatically. The result: smoother operations and top-notch customer satisfaction.
Process automation & data sync
Manual tasks used to be a time sink and an error trap. Now, stable PlentyONE workflows and a connected PIM ensure consistent content and a seamless brand experience across every touchpoint. The payoff: high data quality, less stress, and scalable processes – built to grow.
Onboarding
ORION likes it fast. The Onboarding Session.
It all sparked at K5 in 2024 – and less than a week after signing the contract, ORION kicked off onboarding with PlentyONE.
Just six weeks later, the middleware went live – serving as the central hub for all B2C marketplace connections. Weekly check-ins, tailored training sessions, and a project team that thinks in tech and understands the everyday hustle of multichannel selling – that’s what got the setup up and running. Smoothly. Swiftly. Successfully.
